Stages in a piece inspired by Art at the Speed of Life
These are the stages in a piece inspired by Art at the Speed of Life…
OK so let’s recap…..Multi-tasking as a Multi-Media Artist!
1. Just because it’s pretty doesn’t mean it’s practical…
2. Get out the duct tape and divide up that room….If you can’t see it you won’t use it…Out of sight out of mind… Collage Lab by Bee Shay
OK today we’re on number 3 of Multi-tasking as a Multi-Media Artist
3. If there’s paint in that brush use it!! Waste not, Want not….With Art at the Speed of Life by Pam Carriker
Forgive the Silver Patron shirt in the video! I won’t lie…it’s one of my favorites!!!
I am a book addict AND I’m ADD and it’s consuming my life!
You see there’s this little place called Amazon.com and the little fact that I’m not only an artist but and art teacher so I am ADDICTED to ordering art technique books from Amazon!
Then I can’t just READ them….NO…I have to start every project in them…ALL AT ONCE…and at this point my studio might as well be divided with little walls of duct tape like a child dividing his room from his little brother….collage lab in this corner, abstracts on the rocking chair, illustrations on the easel, block prints on the table, Art at the Speed of Life on my bed in my journal, and even drawing lab on the floor of my studio…right smack in the center…
But you know what…I’m doing it…I’m doing it all…I’m a little crazy yes and anyone who knows me understands that fully, but I’m doing all these projects simultaneously and loving it!!!
So I thought I’d share.
Over the next few posts (whoever’s out there reading) I thought I’d share some work I’ve done with each book, finished or not and maybe even share the mess that’s gone along with it in my life and in my studio.
My goal is to show you that you can Multi-task as a Multi-Media Artist! And you can Love it!
And Yes while copying and pasting these images from Amazon I ordered another book!!!
Reading Art at the speed of life…doesn’t get any better than this!!! What a a birthday present…how did my son ever guess….OH, my Amazon wish lish!
